FarWide Outdoors Inc. runs farwide.com. This page says what we collect when you use it, why, who helps us run it, and how to get your information changed or deleted. We keep it short because we collect very little.

  1. 1. What we collect

    • Your email address, if you sign up or subscribe, plus the date and, if you pick one, your home state.
    • Your Ask FarWide questions and our answers. Each browser gets a random ID so we can apply the daily question limit, and we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for the same reason. We don't keep your IP address itself.
    • Your points and residency settings stay in your own browser. If you create an account, they are saved to it so they follow you between devices.
    • Usage statistics: counts of which kinds of pages are viewed and which features are used, such as how many plans were started on a given day or which topics Ask FarWide questions are about. They are counted in aggregate, without cookies and without any identifier, and never include your email address, your IP address or the words you type.
    • Standard server logs (time, page, browser type) kept by our host for security and troubleshooting.
  2. 2. What we don't collect

    • We never ask for, and never store, your state wildlife agency login or password, and we never log in to or submit anything on a state agency site for you.
    • We don't store payment card numbers. When paid plans open, payments are handled by a payment processor.
    • We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use advertising trackers.
  3. 3. How we use it

    • To email you draw windows, new states, data updates and news about FarWide. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
    • To answer your Ask FarWide questions, apply the free daily limit, and let you share an answer by link.
    • To understand which pages and features are useful, and to fix problems.
  4. 4. Who helps us run FarWide

We use service providers to host the site, store data, send email and answer questions. They process personal information only on our behalf and under confidentiality obligations.

  5. 5. Cookies

FarWide uses no advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookies we set are ones the site needs to work:

    • Sign-in cookies keep you signed in to your account. They are removed when you sign out.
    • An Ask FarWide cookie holds the random browser ID described above, so the free daily question limit can be applied.

Usage statistics use no cookies and no stored ID. Your points, plan and reminder choices are kept in your browser's own storage, not in cookies. Because these cookies are needed for sign-in and the question limit, there is nothing to switch on or off; you can remove them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which also signs you out.

  6. 6. How long we keep it

    • Email address: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
    • Ask FarWide questions, answers and shared links: 30 days.
    • Daily question counts: 2 days.
    • Usage statistics (daily counts, with nothing that identifies you): up to 400 days.
  7. 7. Your choices

Use the unsubscribe link in any email to stop emails. To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, write to hello@farwide.com from the address concerned. We reply within 30 days.

You can clear your points settings and browser ID at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

  8. 8. Children

FarWide isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has signed up, write to us and we'll delete it.

  9. 9. Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your email address, we'll email you first. See also our Terms of Service.
